GAIAC Membership

GAIAC MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES AND REQUIREMENTS

FULL MEMBER: A full member is a member who possesses appropriate education and experience levels. A full member has voting rights and full access to GAIAC benefits.

REQUIREMENTS FOR FULL MEMBERSHIP:
A) Submission of a curriculum vitae which demonstrates a combination of education and independent consulting experience amounting to eight years minimum, with a minimum education requirement of at least two years in an appropriate field of study. The GAIAC Board of Directors may consider exceptions to these criteria on a case-by-case basis on the recommendation of the membership committee.
B) Must operate on a fee for service basis and derive no direct compensation from the sale of products upon the Member’s recommendations/data/reports. Should the applicant not operate on a fee for service basis and instead derive income from an employer that sells products to the client, the applicant must be able to demonstrate that their recommendations/data/reports are independent of their employer’s goals to sell products.
C) Three client references attesting to qualifications, service, and professionalism as an independent consultant must be provided.
D) Evidence of above requirements need not be submitted if the applicant is a full member of an organization that is an associate member of GAIAC with similar membership requirements. A list of such organizations may be provided upon request.

PROVISIONAL MEMBER: A Provisional Member is a member who is working toward Full Member status but lacks the educational standard or experience to be a Full Member. A Provisional Member does not possess the right to vote in GAIAC business matters.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PROVISIONAL MEMBERSHIP:
A) Submission of a curriculum vitae which demonstrates a combination of education requirement of at least two years in an appropriate field of study or experience appropriate to their field of work.
B) Same as above for Full Member.
C) Two client references attesting to qualifications, service, and professionalism as an independent consultant must be provided.

ASSOCIATE MEMBER: An associate member is one who has an interest in supporting GAIAC goals and mission but may not be involved directly in the business of agricultural consultancy. An associate member could be another agricultural consultant organization, an agricultural based student, an agricultural based professor, or public researcher or the like. An associate member does not have the right to vote in GAIAC business matters.

SUSTAINING MEMBER: A sustaining member is a business or an individual who does not qualify for Full Membership who wishes to support the activities of GAIAC. A sustaining member could be an agricultural manufacturing company, a software company, a company who provides tools for agricultural consultants and similar companies. A sustaining member does not possess the right to vote in GAIAC business matters.

GAIAC SUSTAINING MEMBERS

A sustaining member is a business who wishes to support the activities of GAIAC. A sustaining member could be an agricultural manufacturing company, a software company, a company who provides tools for agricultural consultants and similar companies. Sustaining members can expect multiple opportunities for exposure and promotion via our website, our email marketing, our workshops and our newsletter.
